Welcome to the Herndon Middle School PTA website! The PTA is focused on helping to "Build Community" at Herndon Middle School (HMS) this year. We have an incredible Principal, Mrs. Justine Klena, who, along with the support of an amazing administration team and faculty, is motivated to do everything she can to make HMS a great environment for our children. Our goal at the PTA is to come along side Mrs. Klena and her team and support them in any way that we can.

A big Thank You to all of the volunteers who helped make the event run smoothly. A special thanks to Gina Gallagher and Liz Rearden who organized the volunteers and concessions. Thank you to all the families who came out to support our school and the game. We hope to have more social events like this in the future.
HMS HAITI RELIEF EFFORT
HMS is working to collect donations for the Haiti Relief Effort. A team of faculty and students plan to set out canisters at local businesses to collect money that will be donated to the American Red Cross. If your child is interested in working on this team or if you have any questions, please contact Julia Smart at jmsmart@fcps.edu.
SCHOOL BUDGET INFORMATION
To stay informed on Budget Issues, you can subscribe to the Bottom Line E-Newsletter.
A new issue of The Bottom Line has been posted at http://www.fcps.edu/news/fy2011/bottomline022610.html
This issue features a story on budget news from the state and the county, one rumor buster, and an announcement of Dr. Dale’s appearance on the Kojo Nnamdi show being rescheduled for March 4.
The Bottom Line is an e-newsletter that will be sent to all FCPS parents and employees and interested citizens every two weeks while the budget for next school year (FY 2011) is proposed, discussed, and approved.
The PTA will continue to work to keep you informed on the budget discussions and decisions that will affect our schools.
Thank you for all of your support!
